The first six houses are often read through immediate experience: self and approach, resources and values, learning and everyday communication, home and roots, creativity and pleasure, and routines and service. The next six broaden toward relationship, shared resources, worldview, public contribution, communities, and private or unfinished material.

This sequence is a memory aid, not a list of guaranteed events. A planet in the seventh house does not promise marriage, and a planet in the tenth does not dictate a career. It suggests an area where that planet’s symbolism may be especially noticeable.

Read planet, sign, and house together

Imagine Venus as a function involving attraction, values, or connection. Its sign describes a style; its house suggests an area of life where that function may be explored. An aspect to another planet adds a relationship between functions. Reading all three layers prevents a single placement from becoming a simplistic label.

Questions for each axis

Instead of asking which side is better, notice where one side dominates and what the other might add. An axis turns a chart into a balancing question rather than a prediction.
